In all honesty, I have seen gay men attack each other over this sort of thing all my life. Some gay men are effeminate and some aren't. And those gay men who are not effeminate can be vicious to effeminate gay men. It can get very nasty at times. But I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting slapped. It's usually a verbal attack, not a physical. At least from my experience.
