If you are like me, you may at times feel as though you can't see any way to make a difference to the state of the word. #ShopLocal / #EatLocal has taken on a new level of meaning for me as I read Barbara Kingsolver's 'Animal, Vegetable Miracle: Our Year of Seasonal Eating'.
Whilst this is co-written and captures her family's real-life experience, it still retains Barbara's extraordinary flair for writing that incites the reader to step into her story. What other writer could make the mating habits of turkeys a laughable and tantalising read!
I am convinced this book will stay permanently on my list of 'Inspirational Reading.' Be warned, it is likely to make a permanent change in your approach to food, to shopping and to life.
This book could be described as an action plan to change the world one plateful at a time.
