The fact that series 4 still went ahead and took place after this scene and contained That Scene makes me so furious to this day that I wrote an entire fic (Sine Nomine) that was powered by said rage (aka, the one in which Mycroft basically decides its high time someone dropped John Watson into a shark tank). I still can’t believe the choices these assholes made. By which I mean the writers. I haven’t forgiven them yet, nor do I imagine ever not being furious about this.
