September - The Ghost of Summer

That's what they call September, the ghost of summer. It seems poetic. Though Autumn can be beautiful, I always miss summer when it's over.

In writerly news, I have finished the first draft of another novel in my samurai fantasy series. I took a detour with a ninja in this one, and loved every second of it. Now that four are done, it's time to start editing. I've decided to work one more character in from book 2 on. I just can't help myself, the kami characters are so much fun.

I've also finished another round of edits on The Potential of Forgetting. It's almost ready for release. One more round, a proofread, and the pre-order will be put up on Amazon. It's also ready for advanced readers, so if you're interested in a free review copy, hit me up with an email, wardabooks@gmail.com.

To reward myself for all this progress, I started gaming again. Dragon Quest XI for our new Nintendo Switch. I'm already 40 hours in and loving it. My daughter has her first animated crush, Erik. He's a thief who rescues the MC from the dungeon and becomes a friend. But most importantly, he has blue spiky hair. I'm so proud. She does take after me.
