Prosperity Engine — Update — Leveraging the Negative

Most people fear the negative, or at least avoid it. But imagine putting the negative to work for us. It exists, so why not use it while we still have it? But not in a bad way!

Hold on a moment; you’ll like this.

God Created Evil, But Why?

From God’s viewpoint, evil is merely an educational tool. As His spiritual children, we can better appreciate the full meaning of divine good when we can compare it to its opposite. God did not fear evil. We shouldn’t either. Neither should we resist it nor choose it.

We instinctively know that responsibility is a good thing. Yet, some people confuse responsibility with burdensome chores or even blame. Responsibility is neither of these. And the lack of responsibility can be seen as a bad thing.

Yet, God created the physical universe with the little “trick” of irresponsibility—shirking responsibility for its creation by doing what Genesis calls “resting.”

When we see responsibility and evil from this perspective—as useful opposites—we begin to free up our attention from crippling ideas that trap us.

The free will God gave us allows us to choose between good and evil, but also between spiritual good, and physical good and evil. The distinction, here, is that physical “good” is not “divine good.”

Helpful Hints

The spiritual realm is perfect. It has only the perfections of “good,” “wisdom,” “compassion,” “love,” “responsibility,” “humility,” “confidence,” “competence,” “generosity,” “gratitude” and much more. Spirit knows nothing of “lack” or “scarcity,” so it is the perfect viewpoint for our Prosperity Engine.

Whereas, the physical realm is dichotomous (two-sided), and thus imperfect. It contains the egoistic opposites “good-evil,” “wisdom-stupidity,” “compassion-indifference,” “love-hate,” “responsibility-blame,” “humility-arrogance,” “confidence-doubt,” “competence-ineptitude,” “generosity-selfishness,” “gratitude-resentment,” “victim-perpetrator” and many more. Between each of these opposites resides a gradual scale of varying degrees of these qualities. Even the best, physical good remains imperfect—tainted with a spot of its opposite. A good act done by the egoistic self earns no points in Heaven.

One of the breakthroughs in my own research involves the fact that responsibility is the “truth” of which Christ spoke when he said that the truth shall set you free.

And here’s the really cool part: For anything to persist in this physical universe, we have to shirk our responsibility for it! If you’re not getting goosebumps about now, you may want to read that last sentence again several times until you realize the powerful implications of this.

In other words, for our goals to manifest in physical reality, we have to take away our responsibility for creating it. Now, this is on a spiritual level. And it may seem counterintuitive, but only because we are so used to viewing physical reality from the limited, physical self.

This is what God did when he “rested.” On a physical level, we still need to exercise our responsibility, but this is from the viewpoint of “know about” and below, not from the spiritual viewpoint of “knowing everything” about our creation.

Giving up spiritual responsibility for something allows it to have the time dimension; and, conversely, taking responsibility for that thing removes the time dimension. These are part of the Mechanics of Creation.

Using the Negative to Help Get Rid of the Negative

[image error]Fractile fire. This computer-generated image mimics the real world suggesting that much of what we think of as real is created by similar algorithms. Knowing this can help us build our Prosperity Engine. Image: #1764914 DarkSouls1 (CC0) Pixabay.

In the ancient tradition of Kabbalah found in Bnei Baruch, we learn of a method of perfecting or healing the world (tikkun olam) which involves increasing ego, rather than reducing it. This rather counterintuitive approach has its reasons, though.

Ego has a set number of desires or urges. The objective, in Kabbalah, is to convert each egoistic desire into an altruistic, spiritual desire. Thus, we end up with a spiritual being who has become the best possible true self in all of the natural vectors of desire. But instead of those desires being inward, toward the separate, selfish self, they are outward, toward generously and unconditionally loving others as if they were ourselves.

And this makes a lot of sense. It doesn’t help us to get rid of ego if we have not yet woken up our true, spiritual self.

Using the Negative to Test Spiritual Action (Miracles)

[image error]Traffic — perfect test in mastering our negative impulses. Prosperity Engine needs these skills. Photo: #1209542 Free-Photos (CC0) Pixabay.

Sometime about 1975, I was driving on Los Feliz Boulevard, Los Angeles, and an idea came to me about expanding my repertoire of scientific experiments on miracles.

I had realized that emotions are a powerful force in the mind. I wondered about using that power in my experiment—yoking a potent, negative emotion to do some work for me—like hitching up a team of oxen to a fully-loaded wagon.

I knew that rude selfishness in traffic provoked in me a strong, negative reaction. This was a common feeling in my egoistic being—something I would have to resolve, later. But while I still had it, I wanted to see if I could put it to good use.

Since my subconscious mind had already been primed for “frustration,” “anger,” “resentment” and even “rage,” it should be easy to “ask” for a situation toward which I could flow more of those negative emotions. Was I crazy? In retrospect, it seems I may have been a tad insane, but I can only laugh, now, at the zaniness of such an idea. I was out to test a hypothesis, just like any scientist.

I already knew the steps in the Mechanics of Creation:

Picture the desired end result, andRelease (“Not-Know”) that picture by placing my conscious awareness on something else.

The picture I chose was one of having someone cut me off in traffic, dangerously close so I would have to throw on my brakes. And in retrospect, I see that such an experiment could have been dangerous or even potentially fatal, but we need to realize that the precision of the picture did not include those things. I was not after death or injury; I was after testing my hypothesis by picturing an end result and seeing if the physical universe could deliver it for me.

So, I got the picture and attached it to the familiar, expected frustration, resentment and rage. Then, I turned my awareness to my radio, turning it on and enjoying the music. I knew this would work (faith = confidence + humility), so my subconscious (feeling) attention was still on the desired end result. And since my subconscious already had those habitual feelings all primed and ready to go, I had little or no opposition to my experiment.

A few moments later, someone from the opposite side of the street pulled across relatively thick traffic to jam their car in front of mine—so closely that I had to jam on my brakes to avoid colliding with their vehicle’s rear end.

The next moment, I could see the person looking in their rearview mirror, holding up their right hand, waving, hunched over, as if to say, “Sorry!”

If they had paid close attention to me, they would have seen me laughing hysterically—completely happy for the intrusion. If they had seen this, they might have thought me to be entirely mad for not being angry.

After several seconds, I thought of the rather uncomfortable idea that this experiment’s results could have been a fluke—accidental coincidence. So, I nodded to myself, thinking, ”Okay, let’s try this again. We need to be able to replicate it.”

And, again, I got the picture of someone cutting me off, dangerously close with their vehicle so that I had to throw on my brakes to avoid hitting their car. I attached all my resentment and rage to the picture and “let it go” by changing radio stations and listening with full awareness.

Blam! It happened again. This time, the other driver gave no indication of having seen me. If they were guilty, they were hiding the fact. But again, I was laughing hysterically—entirely joyful at the results.

One thing I realized years later, however, is that the results had not been instantaneous. Each intrusion had occurred a few short seconds after I had “rested” from my “creation.”

And this made sense. I had not asked for a previously nonexistent driver pulling out from a previously nonexistent driveway, in a previously nonexistent car. My request had been one of merely re-tasking an existing car, driver and driveway. So, it took me a few moments to position my own vehicle to take advantage of the driver who had unwittingly agreed with my request.

And here’s something I just realized (as I’m writing this article): Those two other drivers had been cogs in the machine of physical reality. They had chosen physical existences, rather than spiritual existences. Like the “Jedi mind trick” of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars series, such “magic” won’t work on the spiritual individual who is not a cog in the physical machine; it only works on the gears and pulleys (individuals) that have chosen to obey physical reality and its subservient position to the spiritual.

Using Negative ‘Irresponsibility’ in Our Prosperity Engine

So long as we are using this physical universe, we are swimming in a sea built of negativity. Imagine that! So, we should not be so uptight about the negative. Realize what it is in the proper perspective or context of the entire universe—both the physical and the spiritual.

Eventually, we will have to say “good-bye” to physical reality. The physical universe, with all its galaxies, stars and planets, will have served its purpose. We will no longer need it. But while we’re here, we should exercise more and more control over it, but without becoming attached to any of it. This is the superior position of “cause” rather than effect—spirit instead of ego.

In order to make something persist (manifest) in physical reality, we need to use God’s trick of “shirking responsibility” so that the thing or condition runs along as if it were creating itself.

On the physical level, we still practice goodness and responsibility so that we can help others and be a good example to them. We should not do these things so that others think of us as “good,” but only because we are being spirit creating and manifesting good in physical reality.

Thus, we discover that the “evil” of this physical realm is serving a good purpose—a perfectly divine good.

[image error]Batman v Superman poster. Lex Luthor in his movie tried to show how smart he was, but flopped royally. His bad logic won’t help us build our Prosperity Engine. Image: Copyright © Warner Bros & DC Comics.

One relatively recent superhero movie had Lex Luthor—enemy of Superman—telling the Man of Steel (and the audience) that God doesn’t exist. He said, “If God is all-powerful, he cannot be all good. And if he is all good, then he cannot be all-powerful” (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice).

This is clever, but false logic. It contains a false dichotomy based on false premises. This is the Atheist Delusion of assuming things about God which are incorrect. God’s purpose is not a human purpose. And the suffering of these human bodies serves a good purpose, especially because God’s children are not these Homo sapiens bodies. Thus, God could destroy all land-based life during Noah’s Flood and still have that destructive act be one of perfect, unconditional love.

Certainty without humility creates blindness, and the pesky atheists are so certain they are right, they will never see the evidence which proves them wrong. They are among the First who shall become Last, as Christ described them.

The immensely selfish Globalist-Leftists (owners of the Big, Multinational Corporations) are creating massive suffering in the world, and even this has a divine purpose. Those who participate in that evil may not be invited to the wedding party in Heaven, but they are helping others realize the value of being spiritual, instead of a physical cog in the machine of “natural reality.”

Because of the increasing tensions in the world—the jacked-up polarization of “us versus them”—more people are giving up egoistic desires of resentment, revenge, anger, fear, incompetence, etc. They are turning, instead, to spiritual wisdom. But even the evil people amongst us realize this, and are attempting to co-opt this desire for their own evil purposes. So, we need to stay vigilant and humble. We need to remain aware of what is going on in the world, but humble to God’s Absolute Truth—not to the meager, relative truths of this world.

Thus, we can recognize when the Pope is lying to his flock. We can recognize when a spiritual teacher is telling us only a half-truth. We can even learn from the lessons that I have learned and go beyond them to even better, relative truths.

We can even use this “negative” physical universe to help us dissolve this universe. And along the way, we can have a lot of fun using our Prosperity Engine to help others become detached from suffering—help them learn to “fly” with fearless confidence and a humble, generous heart.

Prosperity Engine Progress

Today, after doing my morning meditation, gratitude and other “internal” exercises, I tried a little creative visualization—imagining my first meeting with my “Million Dollar Team.”

Curiously, I found myself in an argument with one of the team members. Rather than get frustrated, thinking that my visualization had become derailed, I explored this conflict a bit more deeply, letting it play out. Then, I looked back at it and examined the feeling (belief, decision and meaning) behind the behavior in my visualization.

This has been one of my own “repeat performances.” A part of my subconscious seems to like conflict, arguments and disagreement. I had found myself relishing online discussions on controversial topics so I could “educate” someone else with logic, reasoning and critical thinking. While these may seem laudable goals, the reason for them is based on some nasty, negative business borne out of the past, and now lodged firmly in the subconscious.

[image error]Movie film graphic. Movies require conflict to build an engaging story; our Prosperity Engine needs to eliminate conflict. Image: #767982 Geralt (CC0) Pixabay.

One of the things I learned about writing fiction is that “conflict is king.” A movie script, for instance, that doesn’t have some visceral conflict, is a pretty wimpy story. A movie without conflict is boring. Even though I’m a big fan of Star Trek, when the first “trekkie” movie came out (1979), I hated it. Scenes like the panning across the lovely new starship Enterprise proved to be gag-awful—tedious. A good movie doesn’t even need dialogue. One movie without a single spoken word, but plenty of visual conflict, proved to be at least interesting. Every sound became a potential clue or a contrast to the lack of conversation. The best movies always had some undeserved misfortune followed by a struggle to undo the damage.

But conflict in real life is dreary. Why would I be hanging onto this?

I got a picture of my Mother, whipping her own thigh with a strap of belt leather as he marched down the sidewalk from my grandparents’ house in Odessa, Texas. This was about 1954, so I was 3 or 4 years old. In that incident, I suddenly remembered that she had ordered me and my brother Terry not to leave the yard. Oops! Her face bordered on rage. And when she caught up with me, I couldn’t return to my grandparents’ house fast enough to escape the rocketing piece of leather aimed at my naked legs and short pants-clothed buttocks.

[image error]Rage. Another ingredient which clogs up our Prosperity Engine. Photo: #921004 Olichel (CC0) Pixabay.

Rage seemed to be a common, underlying emotion with her, at least early in my life. I discovered, years later, that her own father—a Southern Baptist minister, named Adolph, a strong, German name—had been a strict disciplinarian.

Perhaps that is part of the motivating force behind my 5-year feud with my brother Larry—a conflict which ended when I was 9, and when my parents vowed never again to use violence in communicating with my brothers and me. There’s no blame, here. I own all of that. I take full responsibility for the entire chain of violence—from me, to my Mother, to my grandfather, to his father, and on and on. Taking 100% responsibility for all of it forces me to cease being a victim. Nice how that works. It seems this is one of the lessons Jesus was trying to teach us when he took on the sins of the world up on that cross. Responsibility is a powerful tool—the tool of Truth—the tool of Freedom.

Conflict seemed to be an easy emotion for me. Too easy! Perhaps I can find out why it was still lingering in my subconscious by asking the “Why” question. I’ll tackle that one tomorrow.

Coming Up Next

Tomorrow, we will look at the vocabulary used in this work and hopefully clear up some possible confusion. Of course, this won’t be the final word on the topic. Science is never settled, at least until we know as much as does God Himself. And that could be a long ways off.
