Getting praised by someone you look upto…
It’s with great pride and with a struggle to stay grounded, that I read these words of praise showered upon my book ‘Rhythm of Remembrance’.
I remember the first time I picked up Shubhangi Swarup’s lyrically luminous book ‘Latitudes of Longing’, I was in awe of the title, for the way it pairs a geographical term with an emotional one. Later as I absorbed…
…each word,
each phrase,
each sentence,
through page after glorious page,
I realised the depth of not just her talent but also her vision which reflects in her work. As Latitudes of Longing continues its victorious march across boundaries of awards and barriers of languages, somehow it brings me a sense of contentment as if it were my own victory.
Today when Shubhangi Swarup honours my work with her words, it’s difficult to not feel moved. I admit that today I feel proud, but ‘Rhythm of Remembrance’ a book in it’s own entity, is definitely more proud than me. Thank you, Shubhangi Swarup for your generous praise of my work.
