Dear Reader,
Finally a volume where everybody acts their age. Except Rand, who whines like a teenager then runs away. But Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne have their brains active this time. So do Mat and Perrin.
Rand doesn't get many chapters in The Dragon Reborn. This might be the reason why it's my favourite volume so far. Each for their own reason, each with their own enemies to outrun or pursue, all the important characters make their way to the Stone of Tear. We get to know some Aiel warriors and some lordlings hunting for the Horn of Valere. Perrin meets a girl who might or might not become important. And as always, each of the three bull calves thinks the other two know something about girls.
Just like the first two Wheel of Time books, The Dragon Reborn ends abruptly. I'm off to the next volume where I hope to see more of Robert Jordan's fantasy world. And maybe he learned to write endings somewhere along the series.
Yours sincerely
Christina Widmann de Fran
