Take Control of Your Life
There's a big difference between being victimized and playing the victim. Being victimized can often be considered what happens to us. Many people have been victimized, sadly some in horrific ways. Playing the victim is how we choose to react. You can take control of your life when you take control of your attitude.
I want to remind you, you should be on a mission to take full control of your life. In your pursuit to take this, don’t change who you are to make someone feel better about themselves. People’s insecurities can never be eased by someone else. The issues that people have can never be resolved by being untrue to who you are. Your goal is for you to work on you!
Remember it is emotionally and psychologically unhealthy to rely on the praise or criticism of others to determine how you feel about yourself. It’s all about you versus you. People’s opinions of you should never determine or shape your opinion of yourself.
Look at the problems in your life and break them down if necessary. Simply talking about things never changes anything nor will it get anything accomplished. Start acting on what needs to be resolved, fixed, and / or changed in your life.
The one constant variable in every situation is you. The reason people have a hard time identifying their problem is because they refuse to acknowledge that in most situations and scenarios, they are the problem. You’ve got to change that position.
Take control of your life or have somebody else take control of it for you.
This week I had a strong conversation with my son. I shared he can choose not to deal with reality; however, he cannot make the mistake in believing that reality will not deal with him. I reminded him that he can create the life he desires on his terms or he can find himself in a position where others are directing his life without any serious interest of it benefiting him.
Every day I’m challenging people through my various platforms to stop blaming other people for their lack of success and to take control of their life. Make sure you are following me on my social media pages, specifically on Facebook where Monday through Friday I have an Ugly Truth show live at 6:30am.
