Sunday, August 23 - Dragonsbane (digital) downpriced to $1.99, US and Canada, through Open Road Media!

Still hot as blazes here in the San Fernando Valley, but no power failure yet! There WILL be audiobooks of the Winterlands quadrilogy - just don't know when (and of course, everything is slowed down due to the virus).

Still prepping for Fall Semester class, which I'll be teaching live-streaming-online through Zoom; just got a large shoji screen to put behind my chair, so people can't see my study and won't be distracted by the less-than-perfect operation of a digital background. The cats will be locked into separate rooms during lectures. I do NOT want to be distracted by cat-fights in the hall. We'll see how this works!

Fran We've been watching the heat and fires in CA as my mother lives in the Bay Area and 2 of our kids live in Glendale. Whew! Glad we moved away, that's for sure. It gets hot here too, but not for so long. We've had August days so nice we could eat dinner out on the 3 season porch! Can't complain. Just a few days over 90. And no smoke, either.

I hear you on the cats and Zoom thing. I work at home and have done for many years, and the cats get put out and the office door closed if I'm in a meeting. Daisy is half blind, ¾ deaf and has a little dementia, so she will wander around the house yowling at top volume because she has "lost" us. Can't find someone unless they are moving so she can see they are there. Poor baby.

Wishing you continued good health and a relatively pain free virtual teaching season!
