Every story begins with the grain of a premise – a first grain of sand idea, and like an oyster, a writer has to grow characters and plot and events from it into a pearl. Not just a single pearl but a pearl necklace of chapters.

Every story begins with the grain of a premise – a first grain of sand idea, and like an oyster, a writer has to grow characters and plot and events from it into a pearl. Not just a single pearl but a pearl necklace of chapters.
‘Tomorrow Again’, book three of the Bede trilogy time-slip adventure for middle-grade (and up) is now a rough draft of 300 pages. The hard work begins. This day, the chapters are beads but the beads have to be pearls before it can go public.
