After losing Calvin and Hobbes, I didn’t know if I had it in me to ever get another dog. It hurt, so much, and part of me didn’t want to deal with that hurt again. Then I realized, it’s the hurt that shows you how valuable every breath before truly was. I realized you can hurt and keep giving more love away. You can remember and you can step forward. You can hold, and still be held. Gilly Goonie Gregson, brace yourself for a life saturated in love. Welcome home.

.

You can love and fight,

you can seek and you can wait,

hold and still be held.
