I agree with this idea.

I agree with this idea. But it’s hard for people to generate the most wealth possible when they have to put food on the table and pay ridiculous rent.

We already have wealth transfers with graduates progressive taxation/capital gains rates, social security, education inflation, & housing NIMBY. No Millennial will ever see SS payouts, and fewer and fewer can afford homes. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a baseline level of poverty for everyone with UBI and a national version of FEHB (somewhere above ruin as the “floor”), then add education reform & a consumption tax — with an additional yearly wealth tax increasing geometrically above 100m? The goal of this would be to manage the Pareto distribution, foster innovation, and increase society’s overall wealth generated. No more young Will Huntings struggling to make ends meet.
