Moving Forward

I have been working on advertising. On $0, that isn't always easy. You apply to things and a lot of it won't turn out. But, when it does, it can be quite exciting. I found out this morning that I am a Canada Book Award winner https://canadabookaward.com/ This is an honour as it both celebrates my Canadian heritage and my status as a Canadian Author. I wasn't sure I'd make their cut, but now that I actually see it on the site, I know it's not some kind of weird joke. I went from the email link, but then went to the website cold just to make sure. I couldn't believe my eyes the first time, but when it stayed on and went to the actual place, I saw that it was real. It's a mix of Canadian Prince Edward Island Pride and a mix of not being able to believe my good fortune that 3 of my books made their cut.

So, never let anyone tell you that being poor in money will keep you from qualifying for anything with your books. If you work hard at it, you can make things happen. Don't let the naysayers stop you from trying to be all that you can be.

As long as you are Realistically Unrealistic, you keep working at it and trying to move ahead. Eventually, if you are determined, you can make some part of your goals and dreams a reality.

If you haven't voted yet, the TCK awards are still open to votes. Our E-book Rocky Mountain Memories is one of the General Nonfiction contestants!
