Typewriter Series #3016 by Tyler Knott Gregson
Was I broken, was I worthy,
was I deserving, was I
kind?
You were patient, you were
understanding, you were soft
when I was rough.
I was mistake and the
consequence of disarray,
you were forgiveness
and the hand that lifted me
up.
Do not tell me how to deserve you,
be as you are,
and I will dedicate myself
to this discovery.
Do not settle for less than
everything,
I will empty myself, refill,
and pour again,
two thousand years of this
and I will be halfway
there.
