Half Yearly Updates

Hi everyone! If you are like me and wondering where half the year slipped by, you are not alone!

With the global pandemic and lockdown came the additional tasks of trying to self sufficiently within our homes. I know everyone had at least one task that they relied on others that caused an unpleasant burden. Whether it was the lack of takeout, cleaning service, domestic help, childcare, entertainment options, fitness centers- we all had to learn kicking and screaming.

And that I think put the perspective for a lot of people who thought work from home was the bees knees. Well, the grass is always greener on the other side.

Anyway, the saving grace in these ‘Groundhog Day’ style months has been my reading and this blog. So, it’s time to take stock of how the blog fared.

Here are the top stats-

VIEWS

I’m happy to see that my views are a lot more than what it was last year. (Last year/2). I hope to beat 2017’s views this year.

VISITORS

As far as visitors go, 2017 and 2019 were neck to neck. But this year, have already crossed more than half of the metric value from last year.

PAGES

Book Reviews dominated my traffic. The reason is simple cross pollination. I had participated in the BookReviewBlogChallenge. So, a lot of folks came to read my book reviews and naturally hopped to allied book reviews I had done Hurrah!

AUDIENCE LOCATIONS

My audience mostly from the US followed by India. Is latter all you Mom and Dad?? Thanks!

I was surprised to see the countries 6-10 on this list. I have never had people from places like Finland and Ukraine follow my pages EVER. Thanks folks!

REFERRERS

As ever, the WordPress Reader tab made up the bulk of my referrers, followed by Search Engines and unsurprisingly, this year, from the site that hosted the BookReviewBlogChallenge. Thanks a ton. (The accolades were great- and knowing it boosted my traffic is even better.)

I hope to surpass myself this year with views and visitors this year. But more importantly, I hope to write consistently and better. Got to live up to the love of the wonderful supporters in the blogosphere and beyond!
