With libraries and bookstores full of books, how are we supposed to know what to read?  There is nothing new under the sun, so why do we delve into book after book after book?I think we all are searching for that One Voice.You know, that voice that speaks to you through the written word.  The voice that brings clarity and understanding, or pleasure and wonderful emotions.  Out of all the books available, we zero in on certain books and we search for that One Voice.You can tell the books that speak to people.  They are the ones that get the highest ranking of stars!  Even better, they get a descriptive review from readers left for those who are seeking that One Voice too.  Finding the right book is a very exacting process.  You might be doing it subconsciously, or maybe you just read a book until you realize that it doesn't speak to you and you put it down.Ranking books is our way of attempting to point other people to that One Voice.  Finding that One Voice is our way of trying to bring that clarity and pleasure to our lives.  The rankings we give books we've read are like gifts for those readers who come after us.  In ranking a book, we express the degree of how well we received the clarity or pleasure from the book.
