Don't be.  Smashwords offers multiple eBook formats, and I make my books available in all formats they offer, so there's bound to be a format that works for you, regardless of whether you read your eBooks via Kindle, Nook, iPad, or any other eReading device.  In fact, they also offer a PDF you can read on your computer, and since there's a html version as well, which will work with  your browser, if you can read this post, you'll be able to read my books.
