Update

Hey all!

So, like I have said before I suck at updating.

I'm still working on the book. I found I am having a very hard time with this one. It's reading so choppy to me.

I think part of the issue is all the guys aren't nearly as involved as they have been. Drill to me was less of a love story with Ryan and Phil but more about the love story between Ryan and the rest of the guys. It was the bond that made Ryan stronger and such a fun character to write.

This one revolves around Phillip and Ryan more so than the previous book. Phillip has a lot to overcome in this book. It's set a year after Phil's injury and he's dealing or not dealing as the case may be with the fallout. As you all know Phil is a pigheaded Alpha male that has always been at the top of his game. Suddenly he's thrust into a situation that limits him on his abilities. So, he's been hard to write because as a natural born leader, he's not use to 'taking a back seat'.

Over all, this has been really difficult to get the right tone and the proper reaction from all involved.

When I started writing this book it was important to me to stay true to these guys. Right now, Phillip just isn't reading right to me...I hope to have it out soon...

Anyways just a short update to let you all know I haven't forgotten about this book...just stuck in a quandary in regards to the total feel of the book.

Alex Hahn I kind of feel sorry for you because it will be very hard to outshine the first book. It was amazing.

message 6: by Clancy (new)

Clancy Thank you for the update. It must be hard to write a second book in a series and keep it as interesting, you are not the first author to have this problem and I am glad to see you at least want to put it right and not just publish, then have loads of people saying it's not as good as the first etc... some just rush out stuff and then wonder why everyone stops reading them. Anyway Good Luck and hope you get it right soon am looking forward to reading it.

Avrey-zoe I was just watching a documentary on Harper Lee, she said there was a lot of pressure on her after she wrote "To Kill A Mocking Bird" and she felt that she could never live up to that first book. Her close friend said she (Harper) wished she would have just taken the plunge but she was scared and kept second guessing herself.
Remember Lisa Valdez? It took her four or five years to write a follow-up to her first book, Passion.
I'm still waiting on Jane Seville to write a sequel to Zero At The Bone. She said it would be out in 2010, then 2011 but I don't think it's going to happen.

Funny how some authors, (Josh Lanyon, L.A. Witt) can write so quickly, and clearly I have no talent for writing, just adding a few comments. Really enjoyed the first book Crystal. Good Luck.

I have to admit I was thinking the same I think three years is more than enough time. TBH I have cleared the first one from my Kindle because I got fed up waiting for the sequel. There are a lot of Indie authors who do this, I wonder how they would fare if they were with the main stream publishing houses, you really have to be dead to get away with not writing the sequels and sometimes even then the next ones are ready in the rough and get published posthumously. I don't think we are ever going to see another book from this lady.
