WeWriWa: Playing with Fire . . . PRINCE OF POWER

I’m picking back up where I left off with my House of Terriot mini series by celebrating my Prince of Power, Colin Terriot, in this week’s excerpt. Enjoy with a little get-you-in-the-mood music.

What had happened to him since he’d hung out his shingle here in the Big Easy where nothing had been easy, that’s for damned sure? The sense of unity within his family had been ripped apart. He’d placed himself on a path without knowing where it led, doubting everything he’d been so sure of before climbing on this bullet train to disaster with a female he knew he couldn’t trust.

He’d lost faith in his goals and respect for his king, ruined the tentative relationships he’d begun to build with Rico and Kip, and none of those monumental things seemed to matter as he mooned over Mia Guedry.

He never let anyone get close to him. After those he’d loved were torn away, he’d sworn he’d never willingly suffer that again. Then, he’d fallen for Cale’s grand ideals, had let his brother’s new mate cuddle up to a warm fuzzy part of him that made him uncomfortable as all hell, looked forward to the often irritating company of his siblings, and had drunk the Kool-Aid in the whole Unite the Clans business.

But Mia . . . she wasn’t demanding small concessions. She’d set fire to his world!

Was it passion or arson?

It’s always combustible when you pit two strong, determined enemies against one another . . . but it gets especially hot when one of the things they’re fighting is their attraction to each another. I’ll be featuring Mia’s POV next weekend. Until then, if you haven’t yet had the chance, now’s the time to grab up a copy of my HOUSE OF TERRIOT 4-book boxed set which includes all four of my too hot to handle couples for only $3.99! Sizzling summer reading!

While things heat up again here in Michigan after a fairly balmy week, I’ll be spending a lot of mornings out in my oasis with cat and coffee while deciding what project to start next. Decisions, decisions . . .
