One of the reasons A Choir of Honest Killers took a couple years longer than planned is because @nifmuhammad sent me back to my room, rejected sample in hand, to stay present with what I was attempting. Thank goodness. His book They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us was named book of the year by Buzzfeed, Esquire, NPR, Oprah Magazine, and the list goes on a lot longer. He’ll be the highlight tomorrow night at Heavy Hitters Festival with a performance, Q&A, and a workshop on finding the music in language.
