This is space opera the way they used to write it: fast-paced, exciting, filled with humor and with a twisty plot and likable characters. I haven't read anything this good in a long time. The story of humanity's first contact with an alien race which leads to potential Doom for planet Earth makes for an exciting read, start to finish. I was feeling kinda starved for entertainment when I ran across this book, and this filled me right up. Good stuff!
