Who’s Your Friend?

According to Dictionary.com, a friend is:

a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter
a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile:

In my world, a friend is someone who will help you move. Or hide a body.

So, I’m totally puzzled by how important having social media ‘friends’ is to some people.
