Pat Alice Walker speaks with wisdom and compassion. We are losing our elders at such a great rate to Covid-19. How unjust that we are also losing others through ancient bitterness and to long festering ignorance. What does it cost us to cherish our black and brown voices? What does it cost us to ignore them?
I mourn for the deaths of so many, now lost to the world of dreams and memories. "Let me take the blame; I can carry it." This makes me sad but also hopeful. There is such strength in that statement.
