Why do we march? Why are we in the streets and taking bridges? Because George Floyd was unarmed and murdered by police. Because black and brown people are twice as likely as white folks to be killed by police. Because systemic racism must be rooted out and cancelled. Because this commonplace aggression—black violence at the hands of a white cop—cannot continue to stand. And until no Americans are oppressed, we all are. #blacklivesmatter
