It’s January, a time when America’s thoughts turn to a coming clash of titans. And no, I’m not talking about the Patriots or the 49ers. I’m talking about the epic rivalry between Thin Mints and Samoas. That’s right—Girl Scout cookies.
Let me begin by saying that I was never in Girl Scouts and was hitherto unfamiliar with the whole Girl Scout cookie cottage industry. Now, as a parent, I find myself knee-deep in it, and it’s been illuminating. I have enough thoughts on the matter to develop a doctoral dissertation, but in the interests of brevity and reader sanity, I’ll focus on one point: door-to-door sales.
