designs and updates
New Year, New Design
Okay, I don't redesign my site every year. It takes an inordinate amount of time (for an amateur, anyway) and I have enough trouble keeping up with the sporadic "what's new" updates. But I ordered a new set of business cards and related promo material and I just love the look of them. They're bright and cheery, with books and flowers and coffee and yellow! It hit me that it's the look I wanted for my site so everything will match.
I drew a few elements to echo the cards and changed the background colors. Of course the blog has to match the site, so that's done, also.

I also finally added the site for my newest book and it turned out pretty striking, I think:

I expect this design to last well over a year. Have to amortize that time, right? (oops, a slip into tax season)
How many of you authors redesign often? Or do you set it up and leave it? Readers, does a good site design matter?
