Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
Thank you to everyone who visited me last weekend! This weekend, I'm continuing with a snippet from the third story in my Shifter Towers series, PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE. It's an MM MPreg Shifter Romance. The story is available in both ebook and print.
Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Milo and Yoni were getting hot and heavy in the movie theater when Milo decided he needed to stop. Yoni suggested they leave and took him to a coffee shop on the other side of the city. I'm skipping a few more sentences where Milo phones home to check on his son, but continuing in Milo's point of view. They are now sitting in a corner of the shop, waiting for their order to be delivered to the table, and getting to know each other a little better. (SSNN is short for Saramto Shifter News Network)


“Hey, aren’t you that guy from SSNN?”

Yoni glanced toward the voice, and the moment was lost. “Yes, I’m a field reporter for the network.”

“And I never want to miss your stories. You’re cute! My name’s Galax. I hope they put you on the desk so I can see you all the time. Better yet, why don’t I give you my number?”

I pulled my hand away as I looked at this Galax who had interrupted our time together and was hitting on my date. Great, an omega who was younger than me, hotter than me, and had the confidence I lacked.

Yoni clasped my hand again but had his eyes on the other guy. “While I appreciate your support, I’m not interested in seeing anyone at the moment. I already have a boyfriend.”

My chest became heavy. Was I his boyfriend? I thought we were just casually dating. At the same time, though, I wouldn’t be happy if he was seeing someone else while we were figuring out what we had. Shit, why did this guy have to come along?

“Oh, well, keep it anyway.” He dropped a piece of paper on the table. “Just in case.”

Before the guy had turned around, Yoni ripped up the paper and set the pieces on the table beside us. Then he squeezed my fingers and leaned forward. “I guess I’m a little ahead of myself, but I was hoping you would officially be my boyfriend.”

Milo
My mate died in a horrible car crash the night after he claimed me. I didn’t know I was pregnant with his child until he was buried in the ground. Luckily, my brother and his family supported me through it all. Now, it’s time for me to earn my keep. I’m going back to work. Not only to earn money, but to have a social life again. Now, I want them to be mine and I have no desire to leave. But my time is drawing near. While I pray for some miracle to come along and let me stay, I must find a way to tell Milo I have to go.
