Progress Update

It’s been nearly two weeks since my last post which, admittedly, is not as often as I’d like to get something out into the world. Truth be told, sticking to a schedule has proved challenging in the midst of being furloughed from my job due to Covid-19, and having all this unexpected time off. In an ideal world, there would be an update at least once a week. Our world is anything but ideal, though I will do my best to stick to the desired cadence.

While I don’t wish to bombard your inbox with a message every single day like some stores who promise to offer you a good deal if you sign up for their email list, I do intend to periodically provide a glimpse into my writing process. If you’re interested in what’s to come, this will be the place the find out. I’ll keep those posts to a max of one a week, with minor exceptions. Eventually some other items may pop up on the blog feed that are unrelated to my overall progress. Something that piques my interest, perhaps, which I felt like sharing. I’ll try to keep those at a bit of a minimum as well, but it will help to keep things fresh.

The real meat and potatoes of this post, however, is providing an update on my writing progress. We’re now 23 days removed from the publication of What Remains is Infinity. I’ve learned a lot in putting it out there, about how to approach publication more effectively and how to set each book up for success. A few of you have already finished the story and shared your thoughts, most of which has been quite the ego booster as I’m notoriously tough on my own work. Thank you to everyone who has helped in all the success this novel has achieved thus far!

Originally, the plan was to work on a novella series following the publication of What Remains is Infinity. It was even mentioned here on my Camp NaNoWriMo post as my project of choice. Although I do still intend on releasing that series in the future, it has been placed on the back burner for the time being.

Work has now shifted, mostly, to novel #2. I refer to it as such because the title has not been determined outside of the fact that it will officially be known as Book 2 of the Micah Brantley Saga. I’ll release more information on this novel in the near future, but know that it will be quite a bit different in scope from Book 1 (aka What Remains is Infinity).

During my time away from writing that novel, I’ve spent quite a bit of time preparing for the one which will follow it. Novel #3, known currently as Book 1 of the Annabelle Atala Saga. This is a story I’m passionate about getting out into the world, one which will likely be viewed as a space opera in the same vein as Star Wars. That’s not to say it will live up to the well deserved hype that follows that storied franchise, but I’m creating an entire world that I hope will be interesting enough to be immersed in once the final word makes its way onto the page.

Now for the surprise:

It’s a cliffhanger.

No, really. Check back next week for some big news to celebrate a month in publication for What Remains is Infinity.

Thanks for reading!
