Shake-up on Jasper Lane

I like to shake things up in my writing. It's kind of what I do. I guess...maybe. Give me a pirate story, I'll add a love affair between a sea god and a stowaway. Give me horror, I'll kill the hero off in the first third of it. I try to be unique. I try to surprise. The thing is, you're never going to surprise or delight everyone. There's always someone out there who's going to figure out your ending before you get there.
