Status report

People have been hopefully asking me about future Hive Mind books, and stories about Fortuna. I have so many ideas for books I want to write that I had a backlog of projects building up anyway, and side-effects from the current world situation have slowed down my writing. Jarra confused things even further by making the New Year story so long that the Earth Prime collection queue-jumped everything else.

So this is a quick status report on my current projects. Please note that I can’t guarantee to publish even two books a year in the current world situation, and any of my projects can go off totally off the rails at the best of times.

The Earth Prime collection has to be finished and published next.

Hive Mind 5 will then be my top priority and hopefully out in time for Christmas, but there’s the usual danger of it slipping into January.

Fortuna. If there’s enough interest in Earth Prime then I’ll be aiming to write more about Fortuna, ideally next year. A project that is slightly complicated by it being the second half of the chimera wars, and interlinking with my partially written book about Tellon Blaze.

Also on my list to progress whenever I have time. Scavenger Exodus 3 and Earth and Water.

Right at the bottom of the list is the mystery book. Pity this book. The poor thing has been sitting in first draft since I first wrote it eight years ago. It’s set in yet another different future, and needs some revisions, but I may eventually sort it out and publish it as a standalone just to stop it whining at me.

Please feel free to comment with your own wish list. The creative side of my brain seems to pay more attention to comments from my readers than it does to anything I tell it myself!

Judith Yes, please, to all of your proposed list. But, especially Fortuna! Also do you have any plans to follow up Reaper?

Janet Edwards Sadly I can only progress series in two future universes at a time. If I run out of things to write in either the Hive or Portal future, then I'll revisit the Game future, but there's no sign of that happening at the moment.

Monique I can't pick. They all tied for first. But I will say Earth Girl was my first love, so I think Fortuna is at the top for me.

But then I want to know more about Blaze and Amber...

Don't make me pick, I want it all :D

Katharine M. Personally, I feel like the last Hive Mind book wrapped up pretty well, so I could wait a while for another in the series. Jarra on the other hand always seems to leave us with a cliffhanger lol. Also, the Earth Girls series will always be my favourite, so Fortuna and Scavenger Exodus 3 are what I'm looking forward to most. Honestly though, I would give up ever hearing about Blaze again for even a small chance to read books about Fortuna.

William Saeednia-Rankin I agree with what has been said, but I have to say that Borderline was just fantastic and left me really wanting to find out more about that world. I really love the Hive Mind books and there are so many hints about the wider universe that my mind is just buzzing with possibilities - also they are just great detective books.

While I'm desperate to find out about Fortuna, and to find out what happens to Blaze and the "Scavengers", I'm delighted to hear that you have plans for a Telon Blaze book at some point. I've been wanting to find out more about that story every since it was first mentioned.

Also it would be so good to do a reread of the Jarra books while including Earth & Water.

Given that I've effectively just said "I want all the books!" I can totally understand why (without additional author-clones) there may not be a Game Future Book 2, though I must say I really enjoyed that book as well.

So much to hope for and look forward to!

I think I'm just grateful for any and all of your stories.

Thank you for so much enjoyment!

Cate H. I really enjoy the Earth Girl and Hive Mind futures. In my opinion, the Hive Mind future has been focused on a lot lately so I'd rather see Fortuna or Tellon Blaze first.

Even if you don't get to what I would personally like to read first, I'm excited to read whatever you write next as all your books are amazing.

Stacey Fortuna then Scavenger 3.

I love Hive Mind, but we've had quite a few recently, so I'm willing to wait a bit.

Reaper was really fun, but it wrapped up quite well, so I'd rather hear more about the others.
