Books to the Rescue

With Stay-at-Home orders in place in many states, and with events cancelled, shops/salons/cafes closed, there is really no place to go and nothing to "do." Except read. Once, many people said they had no time to read, but now, we have lots of time. And books will save us--saving me--from the isolation and boredom. I can travel to faraway lands, meet amazing people, go back in time, and have unbounded experiences...all from books. Our local library is closed, but you can still request books from their shelves and partake of curbside pickup. You ring the bell and the books appear in the book return drawer. Voila. No human contact and books have been sanitized. Or there is the digital arm of our library system were you can download any book in their collection for 21 days. So awesome. And, of course, if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, you can read any ebook, anytime. Whether your preference is historical fiction, mystery, romance, the classics, memoir, or non-fiction, read on and discover the power of the book.
