I travel,
the distant lands of this house
I’ve been locked inside.  
This the table built
with tired hands, was a
stage once, bakery station
for a time.

Ravens come in pairs,
and make a mess of
the feeders, rest
on the opposite side
of this home I call
continent.

I journey
to the bedroom, name it
vacation when you join me
in the shower,
look to the ceiling lamp
and  call it starlight
though we both know
it’s not.
