“Imagery is a very powerful writing tool, especially when you are nearing the end of a story. Look back over your draft and see if there are certain images, symbols, descriptions, etc. that have emerged. Are there any of these you can carry forward into the ending? I think often writers feel stuck with endings because we worry about tying things up too neatly or straightforwardly. Using imagery can be a powerful way to hint at how your characters are thinking and feeling, and how they have grown through the course of the story.”
