Guess What Happened!
[image error]She did it again. There really isn’t much I can say except that I am a broken wreck of an author, trampled underfoot by the relentless willpower of one of my own characters. Part 17 of the serial has been posted. I’m hoping, possibly naively, that it will be a case of third time lucky and the serial finally ends next week with part 18.
As before, I’m giving the warning that the completed novella will only remain here for two weeks before being removed, trimmed, and polished ready to be published in the Earth Prime collection with some other stories set after Earth Flight.

It's fun for me to find out what happens myself. Even when I think I know what's coming next in a story, Jarra has a way of throwing in completely unexpected events. The evacuation to Ark is a classic example. I had no idea Ark even existed until Jarra stuck her hand up in a briefing and started talking about it.While being dragged along by my characters can have a few problems, such as Jarra turning a short story into lengthy serial, there are some incredibly fun moments. :)
I have been craving more Earth Girl since Earth Flight ended so this is my weekly pick me up. I'm going to be sad when it is over, but excited for Earth Prime also:Earth and Water

At some point after the serial story is finished - hopefully Jarra will let it finish soon - I'll be doing a future plans post on my website. The short version is that two publications must happen. Earth Prime and Hive Mind 5.Publications I want to happen as well are Earth and Water to complete the prequel novella arc, and Scavenger #3. The problem is writing progress is slow with the distractions of global pandemics.
And if there's enough interest in Earth Prime, then the plan is there'll be a future series about Fortuna. This is also rather dependent on Hive Mind 5 doing well for the bluntly practical reason that there's a significant up front financial investment in publishing each book. Income from the Hive Mind series is currently funding costs for the next Portal Future books.
