This, That, and T’Other Thing
No big news here, but it has been a week or so since my last blog post, so I thought I would say hi. I am still up in the mountains, doing the social distancing rag, and writing WINDS OF WINTER. I have good days and bad days, but I am making progress.
Most of the world remains closed, including my theatre and bookshop, the Jean Cocteau Cinema and Beastly Books. I had originally announced that we would re-examine the situation come April 15. That date is now upon us, and it is obvious...

Winds of winter seems to me something that will never happen. I already ground it.
He actually said that if he hadn't completed Winds before this summer he has promised us fans that we can lock him in in cell until the book is done.Exciting to see if he keeps that promise lol
@Felix: Technically, what he said was "If I don't have a copy of WOW in hand when I arrive for WorldCon...". Since WorldCon is now virtual, he has some extra time.
Plot twist: George R.R. Martin created the coronavirus to buy more time to write Winds instead of being locked up.
I hope you learned some valuable lessons from the series on HBO! I love your work, and I hope you have more good days than bad going forward. I reread my copy of Tuf Voyaging last month and it is still one of my favorite collections of SF short stories.

Still looking forward to Winds of Winter! I'm no author but I'd imagine everything being closed removes quite a few previous distractions and obligations you had before all this kicked off to allow for a higher degree of focus.

HBO is better than Netflix imo, I have actually started watching some other series than GoT like Westworld and it's actually great.Although I like "Better Call Saul" and is the only reason I watch Netflix lol.
I'm hugely looking forward to reading Winds of winter, please try to enjoy working on it, the fans will have patience!
I can wait. I have a list of other books im reading. Also the Books are so much better then the tv show ( in my option the GOT books are and A, the Tv show is a D-. Then again most books are better then the tv/movie anyway. Theres not many of the Book to film that i really like. Longmire is the only one i can say both the show n Books get an A. After its a give an take. Also i dont know why, but the tv virsion on the book always seems to be worse. U would think with longer time it would be better. But its not. Funny how a 2hr movie of a book can be better then a 10+ ep x amount of years tv show.)
