There is light that shines,
light that warms,
and there is light that spreads.
There is light that drowns
the shadows,
weary world darkness that
spreads too, only quicker,
only further.
You are the glow that
illuminated me,
you are the warmth
that melted the frost
I told myself I’d stay
locked beneath.  

For nothing, you gave me
everything.

I wake, new,
and before my eyes
open,
I turn my face
to find you.

You are the light,
you are the warmth,
you are the fading memory
of all my darkness.
