Started in the same place,
you and I,
same time, separated
by so little.  

Joy is a sticking thing,
a glue that holds
despite the forces that
pry it apart.
Laughter,
the epoxy of it all.

Life,
throw at us what you will,
tear it all down around us,
leak in and soak through,
we will rebuild
with the glue we are,
we will hold it
together,
we will weather
any storm.

Joy is a sticking
thing.
