Typewriter Series #2935 by Tyler Knott Gregson

At the start, it was silence
and it’ll be that again
in the end.  
After some explosion
that began us, after the
blooming of light
in the stillness and obsidian,
it’ll be explosion
that returns us there,
that blows out light
like birthday candle
unwished upon,
it’ll be a tidal wave of
quiet and gravity.

If given wish, granted one
on the candle that’ll turn
to smoke and scent,
I’d wish I could have been there,
wish I knew what
nothing made something
looked like, I’d risk two,
truth be told, as I would
wish I could be there,
there at the edge
of all things, I wish
I could peer into
whatever comes after
this.  

We are all this,
something
from nothing at
all.  I wish we could stop
forgetting.
