Turning the Corner

For the first time since China first reported the Corona virus outbreak, way too late I might add, we had some really encouraging news this morning. New York is reporting fewer admissions than discharges and several drugs are being investigated and used to fight this insidious disease. Efforts are in high gear to develop a vaccine for any possible future outbreaks.

This self quarantine has been especially hard on a lot of individuals, even some suicides, but most folks are making it day by day maintaining their sense of humor and especially with prayer and their faith in the goodness of God.

There are still fear mongers out there crying gloom and doom and pointing the finger at our current administration and President trying to use this fearful event as a political weapon to garner more power. Don’t let them accomplish their goals. The liberal political groups are quick to blame and threaten destruction, but don’t offer up any alternative ideas for solving the problem. Some have intentionally blocked efforts to save our economy in order to achieve some political goal.

Other groups are passing judgement on Christian organization’s efforts to provide aid and comfort to the sick and dying. Where are the aid efforts that are provided by these accusatory groups. Take your time. That’s right, there aren’t any!

Not all efforts to treat the disease have been successful and the death toll is high, however, the death toll for the flu is even greater for the same time period. Let’s get this in perspective. It’s not the disease itself that has created so much havoc, it is the fear of the disease and the intransigence of the Chinese government in providing truthful statistics and information about the virus genome. That was a huge obstacle in our having a well reasoned response, politically, medically, and socially.

In conclusion, we are “flattening the curve” as so many spokes people are fond of saying, but now is not the time to ignore all of the safe practices we have used in public to control the spread of the Chinese Corona virus. Keep up the good work, think before you act, and only get out for the necessities.

God bless and keep our President and our medical workers as they continue the fight.
