Minutes like music,
like the machinations
of concert.
Moments like sound,
the rustling of your dress,
the silence of your hand
closing around mine.
You came to me,
Wordless
but made of song,
I knew nothing of joy
before your notes.

What I know
Of composition,
Faded like forgotten
every time you look
my way.

Some are soundless,
the stillness when the applause
falls away, but
some are symphonies
and they don’t tell
You that.
