breathe, breathe in the air…

I don’t know about you, but I feel anxious and wound pretty tightly. It’s not great, Bob.

So I’m being the person I need in the world. This is for me, and for anyone who needs it:

Take a deep breath. Hold it and close your eyes for a few seconds.

Gently exhale and feel the breath leave your body. Inhale, and feel it come back in.

Relax your shoulders. You’re holding a ton of tension in your neck and shoulders and you’ve been doing it so long, you don’t even notice it.

You’re clenching your jaw, too. Open your mouth and take in a big breath. Feel that air nourish you and let the nourishment spread outward through your body, from your lungs to the tips of all your fingers and toes.

Repeat if you like, and then think of three things you are grateful for.

I am grateful for my health.
I am grateful I have enough.
I am grateful for the love and support of my wife and children.

This helped me unwind a little bit. Maybe it’ll help you, too.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and please choose kindness.

Kelly Wells Thanks Wil! Take care of yourself buddy, this world is so much better with you as a part of it.

Michelle Iantorno Thanks Wil. I think many of us did need that. I have been wound a bit tight lately as well. Working in healthcare at this moment in time will do that to a person. Thank you for making me slow down and have a moment for myself. All my love, Michelle.

Eric Hang in there, Wil! Hope you and your family are doing well.

Saw you last week on "The Big Bang Theory". It was awesome when you'd gone to the Star Wars premiere sporting your Star Trek outfit. It was hilarious ;O)

Also, you should write a review of Stephen King's "Different Seasons". I'd like to see your opinions and POV especially of "The Body" since you played Gordie in "Stand By Me"!!!

Anne S Thanks Will. It's nice to know that we are all in this together!

Suden Käpälä Very simple, and very wise, words. Reminds me of mindfulness techniques -- but a very basic, very easy, version.
This really works for me, thanks.

Lady Mockingbird I'm commenting here, just so you know we are out here reading your Goodreads posts. I sent a message on FB to you about this, but it is likely in your hidden message notifications because we are not FB friends. (No need to add me, I figure you will keep your FB friends list to only those people you actually know. Otherwise there'd be 100,000 or more and that's too much to manage.)
