Lockdown
“A lockdown is an emergency protocol that usually prevents people or information from leaving an area. The protocol can usually only be initiated by someone in a position of authority.”
So while we here in South Africa has been put in lockdown and I know a lot of places have been as well. That limits the things we can do. So frustrations is going to run high and the urge to go somewhere will increase as time moves on. It is sad that some people will not follow what they have been told and put not just their own health on the line but those around them as well.
I know that it will get frustrating but there is always things you can do inside your own home and outside, if your yard permits it without breaking the lockdown. But have you ever thought of just how much time you spend around people that doesn’t really matter to you? When last did you have a conversation, and I mean a proper conversation, with a loved one? Whether that be your parents, aunt, uncle, sister, cousins… you get the idea. Take this time to talk to them and get to know them again perhaps you will be surprised that they got a new job or perhaps a new car. You would be surprised at one misses when you are out in the world, always busy with work.
I think that this time should be spent on things that you have forgotten you loved:
GardeningReadingPlaying a musical instrumentWritingWatching movies/series
And most importantly I think, is to spend time with family where possible as I know some families have been separated. Tackle things that you have always wanted to try and even you fail at least you know that you tried.
Personally I miss my family. But one good thing is that there is such a thing as Video calling. It’s not as good as the actual thing but at least you get to see those that you love.
So go and do what you love and make sure that you and your family stay safe. And know that there is an end to all of this. It won’t be easy but you will get through it.
Support online book stores! As I know here in SA the printing companies have closed down (obviously). But you can still order and read ebooks.
Smile and be happy. Look on the bright side and don’t let it get you down.
