Which way is up?

Just to see what would happen I actually saved this gorgeous sunrise shot of the front range at Grand Teton National Park and rotated it 180 degrees. The reflection of the range in the quiet waters of the Snake River is so pristine that I had to study the image to make sure I knew which way was up. If you look closely there’s a tiny layer of algae on the water that isn’t reflected – that gives it away a bit, and there are the faintest hints of ripples that slightly obscure the reflection of the trees in the lake.

This is, of course, the original photo, so up is actually up, but saving the photo, inverting it, and seeing what happens is more interesting than you’d think.
