30: Hardest part of writing: Honestly, just finding the time to do it. That’s about it. And making myself wait to write scenes that I’m dying to write until their time has come. I refuse to allow myself to write stories out of order (unless they were supposed to be written that way), but for a story that follows a stypical start-to-finish directional narrative, you can always see the cracks when the author wrote in chunks. Being patient. Yeah. Sometimes, keeping track of all the details in the cases, too. I think the record for that one has to be The Bells of King’s College, which features six different cold case murders, all of which had to be related to: a) each other, b) the current killer, and c) one also had to be related to Mary. I had a whole separate file of notes just on the cases! :P
31: Easiest part of writing: The romantic/sexual parts. I live for that stuff. :)
