Happy Sunday! Are you following your distance protocols? Hand washing? Hoarding toilet paper? Oy vey!

The whole world is off its rocker with this imho. I’d love to know where it started and why it has us in such a frenzy.

On a much, much better note…my kitty’s bday is today! His sweet sixteen. He’s lived through over six years of shots, and now 18 months of liquid meds; and still going strong. Happy bday my love!

What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click on the link below the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci-fi.

This week I’m sticking with one of my older works again which was formerly “Refugees” but was re-named “This Time Around”.

Blurb:

Can two lonely souls finally get a second chance on getting it right?

Robert can’t believe this has happened again. His heart is in tatters, all because of his once-again ex. Out of pure frustration, he takes matters into his own hands and gives boxing a try. All he gains is an injured hand, which needs the attention of a physical therapist.

David is overwhelmed and his heart is in denial over the sudden departure of the man he was in love with. As he tries to piece his life back together, a patient needing therapy walks into his clinic and the attraction is immediate; but the desire is not.

Can these two finally find a good relationship that will last and work this time around?

Robert tilted his head and pursed his lips. He rolled his eyes and sighed. “Ah, king of denial. How well do I know how that goes.”

David glared at his patient and Robert’s breath hitched. He saw frustration in David’s gorgeous emerald green eyes, but a deep pain that no one could touch. They had both been through torture. “Let’s just get on with this. You have exercises to learn.”

“Bullshit. I learned them a long time ago, remember? If you wanna clam up and just play cold fish, fine. Continue to suffer in silence.” Robert looked away from him, then down at his injured hand. After what seemed like the longest minute ever, he spoke again. “I’m sorry, I just…I know something is bothering you and I like you, David. But…I’ll stop pushing.”

The tone cut David to the core and tugged at his heartstrings. He was being a cruel bastard to someone who just wanted to listen. That was all. David smoothed his skilled hands over his patient’s arm. “Robert, I’m sorry… it’s just been a really horrible month for me. Can you forgive me?”

Robert looked up and smiled. David did the same. “I accept. Let’s just get me better so it doesn’t hurt like a bitch to type anymore.”

David nodded. “I’ll do my best.”

A sweet moment between the therapist and patient…can they be good friends?
