I am connected, and I feel this.
Before the lightning found me,
before I, for some brief moment
was tied to earth and sky,
illuminated white hot and trembling,
I knew.  

Feathering off every living thing
are billions of strings,
tendrils seeking bond,
some form of symbiosis
where what they know I should,
what I have they need,
and I feel this.

We can send out peace,
pulse it from ourselves like wave
to shore, send it freely
and without pause for permission,
lean into those we share
this place with
and gift to them
appreciation.  

We are connected, and I feel this.
