Hai in "The Colorless Thief," Tsuyu in "Blue Grey Blue" and Shino in "Ever Changing, Ever Turning" are roughly the same age. Kiriko and her mentor from "Ripen" and "Grayer Than..." come about fifty years after these three. Ai in "Blue Grey Blue" is an older model of Mizuha and Sakura.

Well, in my review for Rocket Stack Rank I'll call it the "Colorful People" series for now, and I can change it if you come up with something better.Does the island location have a name? That'd be the best sort of name for the series, I think.

Ahaha was starting to wonder how much Japanese you know.Oh, I think something using 様 will be perfect. Using "yo" pronunciation, though.

I lived in Japan 35 years ago, and I had a job where I had to speak Japanese all day long. I had just reached the point where I knew enough Kanji to start making sense of newspaper articles before I had to come back to the US.Over the years, I made a lot of trips to Japan for business, so I'd get at least a few days of year of practice speaking the language, and I'd talk to Japanese employees who visited my company (Microsoft and then Amazon) so that was a bit more practice.
Since I retired seven years ago, I made one vacation trip to Japan with relatives. I could buy things in stores, get train tickets, and guess at the meanings of lots of signs, which was useful, but only a shadow of what I once knew.
Good luck finding the perfect name for the island. If you let me know, I'll update the reviews with it. I can also update the data on isfdb.org with it.
