Let’s March toward spring :D

Hello, Write Edge readers! We’re into the third month of this new year and decade. The world is on high alert due to the coronavirus, so this is my public service announcement: please, please, PLEASE wash your hands thoroughly whenever you return from a public place and, for the time being, maybe refrain from offering anyone outside your family a hug or a handshake. Be upfront about wanting to protect their health and yours. Better a few seconds of awkwardness rather than two weeks of quarantine.

Take care of yourselves, readers.

Now, on to this week’s content! If the coronavirus isn’t enough to remind people to be careful and make the most of every opportunity, perhaps this week’s motivational quote will do so. We all get one life; don’t hold back.

“I am … aware that life doesn’t go on forever, and no writer really has … time to waste.”–Corey Flintoff

Maybe this whisper of urgency is the reason why I chose to write a poem for this week’s writing exercise. I know, me and poetry? But it’s good to challenge ourselves once in a while, and, rest assured, this is more story than poem. It’s really a story masquerading as a uniform set of lines that conform to a particular shape. Here’s a quick excerpt:

I remember poking my tongue out as I concentrated on the eye.

I remember my triumph when I threaded a hundred needles in a row.

In the middle of the week, I’ll share a brand new book review. Co-authors Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have a release coming out tomorrow called You Are Not Alone, and you’ll find out Wednesday what I thought of their latest thriller. Come check it out on The Write Edge Bookshelf!

Finally, on Friday, we’re back to my Insta world and my latest posts and pictures! Aren’t following me yet? Come request to follow me by using my handle, @EktaRGarg, or check out my Facebook author page where you can find the Instagram posts as well as other fun content exclusive to FB.

Have a fantastic week, readers! Now go wash your hands. :>
