Does Anyone Have a Virtual Sherpa?

So, uhm, the m/m romance group at GoodReads had a ballot for some of their favorite romance reads this year.  My, uhm, name might have come up a time or two.

I can not thank the moderators and supporters at GR enough.  I'm incredibly honored, ESPECIALLY because the company I'm keeping is so incredibly grand.  The other stories and authors on this list were pretty freakin' spectacular.  It's as close to the cool kids table as I will ever be--and the cool kids are still way cooler than me.  But I'm glad that we got to eat lunch together--it was really quite a meal.

Dea Congratulations :D I'm so happy that you got all these awards after all that you've been through with your job... this is an even bigger acknowledgement of your amazing talent. Now you can really see many people were touched by what you wrote :)

Amy Lane Thank you-- and yes, to some extent, it does feel that way. (I will tell you that last year, when Keeping Promise Rock by some fluke, made DUBWAHA on the SmartBitches/TrashyBooks site, I spent a lot of time sitting at my desk and screaming "Call it porn NOW, motherf***ers!!!!!" into my computer screen. It's amazing, the things that help you recover from something like that.)

I can't imagine anyone calling your books porn, they are anything but. I read them for the amazing emotional connections your characters make with each other. The smexxin' is just bonus ;)

Many, many congrats on the well deserved wins!

Kaje Harper OK, I'm thinking even one sherpa will be overloaded. Time for the semi truck. That is pretty damned impressive lined up like that (and the winner badges are nice and shiny :) I hope you can really enjoy this and see it as the affirmation that it is. No category had less than 500 votes. Some had over 900. That means a boatload of people voted for your work as the stories that moved them, entertained them and amused them the most, out of all the wonderful options out there this year. And you are one of the cool kids that I aspire to sit with (and managed to once LOL.) Congratulations.

Amy Lane *toe in the dust* Kaje? Kaje is the freshman who is so rocking now, we'll be blinded by her when she's a sophomore. Amy was NEVER as cool as Kaje:-) (And the Sherpa WAS looking a little pasty-- especially when uploading to blogger almost crashed Safari!)

Thank you, Cris-- I'm almost to the point where I can forgive that whole "porn" thing--but that's not going to keep me from stopping and taking a bow every now and then, and thanking everyone who loved and was moved by something that was born in my off-kilter brain:-)
