Let's Talk About Take-Overs

Good morning all!

Today, I want to talk about author take-overs.

For those who are hoping to make their publications successful, author take-overs are a very useful way to widen your audience and interact with potential readers.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept, let me explain.

Author take-overs are events where an author signs up to ‘take-over’ or become a guest in the Facebook group of another person or community. Generally, you would choose groups in a genre appropriately matched to your book.

During this time period (which may range from fifteen minutes to an entire day, depending upon the rules of the group), you would tell everyone about yourself, introduce your books and writing, play games, and interact.

Now, you may be asking yourself, ‘Merel, how do I know I’m doing this right?’

There really isn’t a wrong or right way to do it. But for the sake of argument, I’ll give you some examples.
